Africa Day
is the day on which
The day
exemplifies the achievements made by the various leaders on the continent with
regard to the founding of the new African Union (AU) in establishing NEPAD and
other continental developments, to address the challenges and ensure that the
21st Century truly becomes an African Century.
In
recognition of the inter-dependence of African states and the need to promote
the dignity of and respect for all African countries, the Free State
Legislature has identified as among its objectives the following;
a)
promotion
of knowledge about the countries on the African continent;
b)
the
promotion of the establishment and functions of the African Union and
c)
the
promotion of knowledge and understanding of the New Partnership for African’s
Development (NEPAD)
This
publication provides a map of the African continent, the national flags and
capital cities of all countries on the continent, the Constitutive Act of the
African Union and a brief description of NEPAD.
